Stay with the process: "What did you try first? What did you change?" Let your child name the move that helped.

Build something for five minutes. Try blocks, drawing, or clay. Let your child decide what to make, then ask them to tell you about it.
Name the feeling before solving the problem. Before you jump in, describe what you see: "That looks really frustrating." Then pause and listen.
Let your child teach you something. Ask your child to explain something they know well. Listen for what excites them, then ask one follow-up question.

Offer one real, manageable job. Let your child choose a side dish, organize a game shelf, or prepare something the family will use. Agree on what finished looks like first.

Turn one project into three next actions. Choose a real project and write the next three actions together. Make each action small enough to begin without another planning step.
